The idea to create icmhBTFN popped in my head around the summer of 2020 after a few great talks with friends that I hadn't spoken with in some time.

icmhBTFNを作るというアイデアは、2020年の夏頃、しばらく話していなかった友人たちと何度か素晴らしい話をした後に、私の頭の中に浮かんだ。

It then dawned on me that despite being "connected" with them on social media, a certain kind of connection was lost. There is something special about sitting down and dedicating time to listen to a friend––something intimate and something real.

One of my favorite lyrics is in the song, "We're Not Taking Numbers" [BLOOD RED] that goes:

"Let me let you in on a secret, all my heroes I call by their first names."

ソーシャルメディア上では彼らと「つながっている」にもかかわらず、ある種のつながりが失われていることに気づいたのだ。座って友人の話に耳を傾ける時間は特別なものだ。私の好きな歌詞のひとつに、「We're Not Taking Numbers」［BLOOD RED］という曲がある：

「僕のヒーローはみんなファーストネームで呼ぶんだ。」

That line really hit home when I first heard it nearly many years ago.  So, naturally, I thought it would be an ideal name for this podcast as it expresses the respect I have for the many people I call "friend".

何年も前に初めて聞いたとき、このセリフは本当に心に響いた。 だから当然、このポッドキャストの名前も、私が「友達」と呼んでいる多くの人々に対する尊敬の念を表している、理想的な名前だと思った。
